The next generation Porsche Cayman and Carrera S for 2011 has been caught by EasyCarBlog undergoing heat testing in South Africa. On the back of the Carerra you will see a sticker which says “Government approved high speed testing vehicle”. This means that the car can travel up to 350km/h on public roads without prosecution. Pretty unfair eh?

The little city which hosts all of these exotic prototypes is called Upington and it is based in the Kalahari desert. Dean from EasyCarBlog got in touch with these exclusive spy shots and kindly let us feature them on the site.

The Perfect Pink Porsche?

The Perfect Pink Porsche?

We just had to post about this Porsche belonging to Amanda Vega. I first saw her car in her Twitter profile and right away thought – right…I’m following her!! I added her to my list of followers and she returned the favor. Amanda sent me a wee tweet “why I love my pink Porsche even if everyone thinks it’s weird.”, and that settled it – we just had to post about this 911 soft top.

Rumours are flying round car fan circles that the new Porsche 911 GT3 has achieved a more than impressive 7 minutes 40 seconds around the Nordschleife.

Walter Rohrl, who test drives for Porsche, was apparently ’slowed down’ by the other vehicles on the track. How much would you love to be flat out round the ring in your pride and joy, getting smoked by a new GT3 with a Porsche test pilot at the wheel.

So what the heck is this PDK all about then?

I was harping on about wanting PDK in my next toy, and thought I’d better find out what it actually is! And probably more importantly – is it any good?

Porsche PDK, (Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe), which simply means Porsche double-clutch gearbox, was initially developed for motor sports. It was developed to benefit drivers in terms of speed and acceleration by allowing them to change gears while still keeping both their hands on steering wheel. Seems like a great idea to me!

What is it with white Turbos!?

What is it with white Turbos!?

Another real nice example and the white is totally growing on me. I know there seem to be loads of white cars kicking about, but this 911 turbo does look good in it’s white paintwork. Looks like it was a nice night down inStonehaven. If anyone is ever up in this part of Scotland, there is possibly one of the best roads I have driven called the Slug road.

Stunning 997 GT3

Spotted this Porsche 997 GT3 on Flickr. The photo was taken by Brandon Perdeck and it is well worth checking out his photostream.

This 997 GT3 just looks perfect. Aggressive, yet not overly in your face. I’m not normally a massive fan of white cars, but the black splitter and alloys on this example really finish it off. Hmmmf…I might need to re-think the plan of a Ruf…this just looks cleaner, less in your face and, well awesome! I want!

Pulled up to a set of traffic lights this morning and a Red 911 Turbo pulled up right behind me. sounded amazing, a slightly electronic rumbling noise.

I looked in my mirror and the driver looked mid 30’s with long hair, and shock-horror….a woman! Who would have though it?!?
